Case 1: Resin Bonded Bridges

This 15 year old girl had finished her orthodontic treatment and was not happy wearing a removable retainer (flipper) as a replacement tooth for her congenitally missing (from birth) lateral incisor. For the best cosmetic outcome she really required a good deal more treatment to expose more of her teeth, increase their size and shape, get rid of the white spots and possibly other treatmant. But she was only 15, impatient to get rid of the removable appliance and for now at least didn't really care about some of the other improvements that we currently have to offer. I recommended a completely noninvasive means of making her happy which is totally reversible and would allow her to go ahead with some of the other options at a later time without having to destroy more tooth structure. This is not ideal treatment but this kind of bridge offers an alternative to implants, removable partial dentures or conventional crown and bridge for many people both young and old.
